Criminal Record Check - Basic Disclosure To get a Personal Licence you will need a criminal record certificate or the results of a subject access search of the police national computer by the National Intelligence Service ( the police search is more difficult to access).
You can fulfil these requirements by applying for a Basic Disclosure from Disclosure Scotland, or from the Disclosure Scotland website.
In order to make an online application for a Basic Disclosure, your current address must be in the United Kingdom and you must have been resident at this address for more than 12 months. If not you will have to apply using the paper application form. The Disclosure costs £20.00. There is no extra charge for debit or credit cards.
