The RSPH Fundamentals of food hygiene is a qualification that covers the basic principles of food hygiene for caterers and other food handlers. It is valuable as a freestanding qualification or as an addition for people following other training programmes.

Holders of this qualification will have a knowledge and understanding of; the importance of food hygiene, associated food hazards, good hygiene practice and controls based upon an awareness of food safety management systems.

These topics are regarded by the Food Standards Agency as being important to
understanding and maintaining good practice in the handling, processing and preparation
of safe food.

The examination consists of 30 multiple choice questions. The duration of the examination is forty minutes.

Fast track which is a self study pack with tutor support and specimen questions, the candidate only has to complete the examination, great for those who are too busy to take time off for the tutored programme and need the flexibility of exam only.
